Dwight Clark was a four-year letterman on the football team from 1975-78. He started 10 games as a senior but had a separated shoulder that limited his performance. His biggest catch of the season came against Maryland with a 62-yard reception that tied the score. The Tigers went on to win that game and the ACC title.
Clark was drafted in the 10th round by the San Francisco 49ers in 1979. He led the NFC in receiving yards and the NFL in total receptions in 1982. He was also an All-Pro selection and named Player of the Year by Sports Illustrated. Clark played in two Pro Bowls and two Super Bowls. He was inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1988.
