Shad Bryant was a standout football player from 1937-39. He played in the 1940 Cotton Bowl game in which Clemson won its first-ever bowl game. Bryant did a little bit of everything while at Clemson. He was most successful at punt returning and is Clemson's career leader in punt return yards. In 1939, he was named to the All-Southern Conference team. Bryant was inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1979. |
