Clemson, SC - Clemson freshman forward A.J. Tyler has requested and been granted a release from his basketball scholarship. Tyler, a native of Palm Harbor, FL, played in 30 of Clemson's 36 games this year and averaged 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game for the Tigers who won a record 25 games this season.

"I thought A.J. made solid progress this year and had a chance to build on that," said Clemson Head Coach Oliver Purnell.
