Head Coach Oliver Purnell:

On team's effort today:

"At first glance, the rebounding jumps out at you. I think it is a sign of the maturity of this team. It would have been easy to look ahead, but our guys came ready to play today. Overall, I'm pleased with the approach, the attitude, the effort that our guys brought today."

On his assessment of the team at this point:

"I am more pleased with this team than I was five days ago ¬ I didn't think we played really well in Puerto Rico. But we did the things today that make us an outstanding basketball team. After losing last weekend, I felt we would respond because of the maturity and experience on this team. These are some hungry guys."

On the growth of K.C. Rivers:

"K.C. has really evolved as a player. After coming in here with a reputation as a shooter, I think you can see the progress he's made in becoming a well-rounded player."

On James Mays' recovery from injury:

"He's not quite 100% yet, more like 95%. But as far as quickness-wise, he's pretty good right now. Elevation-wise, he could be a little more explosive. But he's close."

On playing Alabama:

"We have got to focus on Alabama ¬ they are playing extremely well right now. It will be a good game against an SEC team on their home floor; it would be a big win for us. We'll have plenty of time to prepare for North Carolina. But Alabama is playing well right now, so it will be tough."
