GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Sophomore guard Will Solomon scored a game-high 27 points and junior center Adam Allenspach added 19, including the go-ahead basket with 3:39 remaining, as Clemson held off Furman 74-70 in a nonconference game Wednesday night.

The Tigers (6-6), who lead by as many as 20 late in the first half, won with a 9-3 run after the Paladins (7-7) tied the game at 61 on a three-pointer by Kyle Julius.

Allenspach made a layup with an assist from Solomon and followed with two free throws for a 65-61 lead with 2:48 remaining.

After a Furman free throw at the 2:00 mark, Tomas Nagys, Solomon and Edward Scott hit a free throw apiece for a 70-64 lead with 45 seconds to go.

Julius, who scored 21 to lead the Paladins, hit two long jumpers and Marcus Dilligard hit a free throw in the final 32 seconds, but Solomon countered with a layup and two free throws.

It was the Tigers' 24th straight win over Furman in a streak that began with a 106-74 decision at Clemson in November 1978. Overall, Clemson now leads the series 92-51.

The teams traded technicals.

Clemson's Arturas Javtokas received one at the 12:42 mark for disputing an offensive foul on a rebound. Thirty-eight seconds later Foster was called for talking aggressively to Solomon out front.
