CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Will Solomon and Tony Stockman scored 22 points apiece to lead Clemson to an 87-77 victory over Charleston Southern in a nonconference game Thursday night.
Clemson (8-4) is now 14-0 against Charleston Southern (1-9), which lost its fourth-straight game of the season.
The Tigers trailed by as many as 15 points early in the game, took the lead late in the first half and then built a 12-point lead in the second half.
The Buccaneers were led by O.J. Linney and Gene Granger with 16 points apiece and Ivica Perica with 15 points.
Clemson took the lead for good with a 10-1 run early in the second half. With the game tied at 56, five different Clemson players scored to give the Tigers a 66-57 lead with 10:49 left in the game.
The Tigers shot 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Buccaneers, 37-28.
Clemson put together a 22-8 run in the final six minutes of the first half to take a 45-42 lead at the break. Solomon scored 12 points in the first half, 10 during the Clemson run.
The Tigers trailed the first 17 minutes of the game. A layup by Pasha Bains gave Clemson its first lead of the game at 37-36 with 3:02 remaining in the first half.
Eight minutes into the game, Stockman came off the bench and put Clemson back in the game. He scored eight points in a 12-0 Clemson run to cut the Charleston Southern lead to 26-23 with 10:37 remaining in the first half. In three possessions, Stockman had a steal and a lay up and back-to-back 3-point goals.
The Buccaneers jumped out to a 22-7 lead in the first seven minutes of the game. Five of Charleston Southern's first seven field goals were 3-point goals.
