CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Guards Bernard Barrow, SirValiant Brown and Chris Monroe combined for 78 points and 14 3-point baskets as George Washington rolled over Clemson 90-71 in a nonconference game Wednesday night.

Barrow netted 28, Brown 27 and Monroe 23 as the Colonials improved to 5-5 and gained their 12th win in 14 tries against the Tigers.

The Colonials hit 8 of 20 3-point shots in the first half, jumping ahead 11-2 in the first 4:30 and going up by as many as 15 before taking a 41-30 lead at halftime. They continued their three-point barrage after intermission by hitting seven of 18.

Clemson opened the second half with a free throw by Adam Allenspach and a 3-pointer by Edward Scott, but GW responded with three consecutive 3-point shots from Barrow and Brown for a 50-34 lead at the 17:24 mark.

The Colonials' efforts were aided by two Clemson technical fouls, the first on head coach Larry Shyatt for questioning a call and the second on Ray Henderson for a taunting gesture.

Brown gave the Colonials their largest lead at 81-61 when he rebounded his own three-point attempt and banked in a six-footer with 3:12 remaining.

The Colonials committed just three turnovers on the night, compared with 12 for the Tigers.
