Head Coach Oliver Purnell
On Game:
"We made a conscious effort to get the ball inside. Trevor played a huge
part in that because he was able to get their big guy in foul trouble.
Presbyterian had a good offensive plan, which made us get out of our
pressure and play zone and we were able to contain them. Overall I am
pleased with the win, we didn't play well but we had some spurts that
helped us."
On Sykes:
"He has really stepped up in the starting line up. I think last year was
a blessing in disguise when Mays went out and we had to depend on Raymond
a lot inside and it really improved his game. This year the question was
whether Grant would be able to make the same leap that Ray did, and so far
he has done that."
On Booker:
"I didn't feel they had an answer for him on the inside, and we didn't
want to get away from establishing the inside game. That is our game play
to establish the inside game everytime."
On Illinois:
"It will definitely be a different test than we have had all year. They
are a higher caliber team and we have to be sure we take the lessons we
have learned in these earlier games and use them against Illinois."
Last two games:
"We have certainly established the habits and identity that we want to
which is having that inside presence and being able to get the ball to our
big guys. These last few games have been very productive, I would like to
be further ahead though."
