CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson led by as many as 43 points en route to a 79-38 victory over South Carolina State.

The Tigers (3-0) were led by Sam Perry who had 13 points. Akin Akingbala and Vernon Hamilton each added 10 points. Clemson knocked off its third consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Wednesday.

The Bulldogs' (1-3) Brian Mason led all scorers with 14 points while pulling down six rebounds. South Carolina State played without the services of Thurman Zimmerman, a previous conference player of the year. The Bulldogs expect Zimmerman to rejoin the team next week.

Clemson forced South Carolina State into 31 turnovers and out-rebounded the Bulldogs 42-31.
