Overview: Only senior on the 2003-04 Clemson team, he obviously will be one of the team leaders…veteran of 88 games, including 64 as a starter, more than any other active Tigers…has a .539 field goal percentage for his career, 11th best in Clemson history, just behind Tree Rollins…has 599 career rebounds, 17th in Clemson history…a 200-rebound season will move him into the top six in Clemson history…a three-year starter, he has a chance to join Edward Scott as only Clemson four year starters in the decade of the 2000s…has shot at least 51 percent from the field in each of his first three years…has more career points and more career rebounds than any active Tiger …needs 10 minutes to reach 2000 for his career…second on the 2002-03 team in rebounding behind Sharrod Ford, he ranked 11th in the ACC in that area…third leading scorer on Clemson’s 2001-02 team with 11.6 average, his scoring declined by 5.3 points per game, but his shot attempts declined from 229 to 130…alternated starting power forward slot with Ray Henderson for first half of the year….started all 30 games as a sophomore in 2001-02 when he was Clemson’s third leading scorer with 11.6 average…second among ACC sophomores in scoring average that year … improved his scoring average by 57 percent over his freshman year with his 11.6 scoring mean in 2001-02 …has missed just one game in three years… has started 63 of his last 74 games… has taken 19 charges over the last two years, more than any other Tiger…has 32 double figure scoring games in his career, including 17 as a sophomore…ranked as 18th best power forward in the nation by Lindy’s Preseason Magazine for 2002-03…also a preseason second-team All-ACC choice by that publication and a third-team choice by ACC Basketball Handbook…named to ACC All-Freshman team in 2000-01 when he led all conference freshmen in rebounding with 6.3 average…set Clemson freshman field goal percentage record with .566 figure, it has since been broken by Sharrod Ford… has 10 career double-doubles, six as a freshman, three as a sophomore and one as a junior…. leads all active ACC players in double-doubles entering the 2003-04 season… consistent in that he has shot at least 50 percent for his career against every other ACC team with the exception of Maryland…grew up in Chapel Hill, his father (Greg Hobbs) works at Duke in the medical center… both of his parents are graduates of North Carolina… his father has been involved in the filming of the Duke basketball television show…played in the 1998 USA Basketball Men’s Youth Development Festival for the South team…had 27 points and 17 rebounds in five games in that tournament.

In 2002-03: Clemson’s second best rebounder with a 5.5 average....had five double figure scoring games, three in ACC play....made first career three-point goal in first career attempt, the only attempt in his first 84 games as a Tiger, at South Carolina... improved from the foul line at the end of the season, he made 5-6 free throws vs. Maryland (at Clemson) and made 26 of last 37 (.705)....sixth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding...second on the team in offensive rebounds with 61.... had streak of eight straight made shots broken at Chapel Hill, his hometown...tied for team lead in rebounding against Duke even though he fouled out after just 20 minutes... led Clemson in rebounding in six games….second on the team in charges taken with six….made eight straight field goals against Duke, Morris Brown and North Carolina from January 5-11, the longest streak by a Tiger all year.

Best Games of 2002-03: Had only double-double of the year at Duke with 10 points and 11 rebounds... tied for game honors with Edward Scott in the win at Virginia, he pulled in eight in 31 minutes of play...did not have a turnover in his 31 minutes... made 4-4 field goals vs. NC State...had nine rebounds to lead all Tigers in the win over Georgia Tech, he played 25 minutes... had 10 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes at North Carolina...made field goal with seven seconds left at Florida State that gave Clemson the lead at 59-58... a strong factor in the win over Cincinnati, he made 4-5 shots from the field and had eight points with seven rebounds...did not have a turnover in 28 minutes...had 12 points in just 17 minutes in the win over Coastal Carolina, it was his first double figure scoring game since the season opener against Wofford... had team best nine rebounds in win over Gardner-Webb, he added seven points and did not have a turnover in 25 minutes....hit 7-10 against Wofford and 2-2 against High Point...nearly had more points than minutes played against Wofford, he had 19 points in 19 minutes...had seven offensive rebounds in the opener against Wofford...had nine points and eight rebounds against Penn State, he would have been in double figures scoring had he not missed 6 of 7 free throws.

In 2001-02: Ranked 21st in scoring, 13th in rebounding in the ACC in 2001-02…also 10th in the league in offensive rebounds per game with a 2.4 average, he was 15th in defensive rebounds…named to the All-Paradise Jam team in November when he had 33 points and 19 rebounds in the three games in the Virgin Islands…had 19-point showing in championship against Miami (FL)…ranked fourth on the Clemson team in scoring average with 11.6 figure, he was second in rebounding and third in field goal percentage…had a higher scoring average, rebound average and field goal percentage in conference games as oppose to non-conference games…led the team in taking charges with 13...had 37 points and 20 rebounds in two games against top 25 teams Wake Forest and NC State at midseason... averaged 13.2 points a game and shot 52 percent on the opponent’s home court as a sophomore, that was the team’s top scoring average on an opponent’s home court… made nine straight field goals at one point against Appalachian State, longest streak by a Tiger that season ….went over 500 career points at Virginia on Feb. 10... started all 30 games for the Tigers in 2001-02, one of three Tigers who could make that claim…had career high five straight double figure scoring games from November 28 to December 8…had a stretch of eight out of nine between Nov. 28 to Dec. 28.

Best Games of 2001-02: Had monster game against #17 Wake Forest on Feb. 13 with 24 points and 17 rebounds... the rebound figure was a career high and the scoring total was his fourth highest as a Tiger...did struggle from the foul line however, hitting 8-19, the free throw attempt total tied a Clemson single game record…but he did make two free throws with 12 seconds left to give Clemson a three-point lead, the eventual final margin... scored 19 points against Miami (FL) in Virgin Islands for his first big game of the year, he also had nine rebounds in that contest against Miami’s formidable front line…had 17 points and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes in win over Penn State in the ACC vs. Big Ten Challenge…scored 20 points in win over Appalachian State in just 22 minutes…had 13 points at N.C. State, Clemson’s only double figure scorer in that game and he was named Clemson’s Jefferson Pilot player of the game... had 16 points and eight rebounds against N.C. State on Jan. 15, he was 7-9 from the field...nearly had double-double at Maryland, he had 12 points and nine rebounds, including four offensive... had outstanding game in victory at Georgia Tech with season high 25 points in 32 minutes... converted 9-15 shots from the field and pulled down team best 10 rebounds... had best all-around game of the year at #1 ranked Duke with 25 points on 8-13 shooting from the field and 9-14 from the foul line... had first double-double of the year at Penn State with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

In 2000-01: Started only 16 games in 2000-01, but 13 of them were in ACC games… was considered the starter for that season, he started one more game than Adam Allenspach…set Clemson record for field goal percentage by a freshman with a .566 figure, breaking the record of .554 held by Elden Campbell in 1986-87…Sharrod Ford eclipsed Hobbs’ s mark the following year…nearly became just the second freshman in school history to shoot 50 percent from the field and 70 percent from the foul line…Campbell is only one to do it as Hobbs hit 68.8 percent from the line… sixth in the ACC in double-doubles with six, first among freshmen…fifth in the ACC in double-doubles in league games with four…leading rebounder among all freshmen in the ACC with 190…had an average of 7.2 rebounds a game in league contests, seventh best in the conference…had strong freshman season, especially considering he missed most of his freshman year of high school due to a torn ACL…had 190 rebounds for the season, fourth highest total by a Clemson freshman…only Tree Rollins, Sharone Wright and Dale Davis had higher freshman totals…all of those players became first-round draft choices…ranked in the top 15 in the ACC in rebounding overall, he was seventh in league games…had a higher league rebounding average than Carlos Boozer of Duke and Brendan Haywood of North Carolina, a first-round pick…first Clemson freshman to lead all ACC rookies in rebounding since Dale Davis in 1987-88…saw limited playing time in Puerto Rico, he played just 19 minutes in the three games due to an ankle sprain suffered just before the tournament began...missed the Florida Atlantic game, the only game he has missed in his first three seasons…had 10 double figure scoring games, seven came in ACC games…had better scoring and rebounding stats in league games than in non-conference games…had 8.6 scoring average against the ACC, third best on the team… shot 55 percent from the field in ACC games, best on the team…averaged 24 minutes a game in conference play, 16 minutes a game in non-conference play…part of that was the result of getting in shape after missing most of his senior year of high school due to a torn ACL …finished the year strong from the field he made 30-46 over his last nine games…he was a perfect 5-5 in the ACC Tournament…had three double-doubles in his first eight games as a Tiger…had seven double figure rebound games and 10 double figure scoring contests for his freshman season overall… averaged a rebound every 3.09 minutes, second best figure by a Clemson freshman in history behind Tree Rollins 2.52 figure.

Best Games of 2000-01: Had still career high 28 points against Virginia on Jan. 27, most points by a Clemson freshman since 1995-96 when Terrell McIntyre had 29 against Florida State...the total was most by a Clemson freshman front court player since 1982-83 when Anthony Jenkins had 30 against Duke...had 17 points and 11 rebounds at Florida State, eight were off the offensive boards, the high figure by a Clemson player the last five years...had 13 rebounds at Wake Forest for his second best figure of the season...had season high 15 rebounds against The Citadel, he had 11 points for his first career double-double…had eight rebounds in 26 minutes to lead the Tigers against #1 North Carolina...came close to double-double at NC State with 15 points and nine rebounds...had double-double in win over NC State, he had 10 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes...had 11 points and 10 rebounds in just 22 minutes in his first ACC game (Jan. 2 vs. Maryland)...had 11 points and 15 rebounds in the win over The Citadel, then had 13 points and 10 rebounds against Northwestern...first Clemson freshman to record a double-double within the first three games of the season since Devin Gray in 1991-92.

In High School: One of the top players in North Carolina as a junior, he suffered a torn ACL in July of 1999 in a summer league game in Charlotte and played just two games his final season...played in just the second and third rounds of the state tournament as a senior...scored 23 points and had 17 rebounds in the two games combined...scored school record 1247 points in his three years plus two games on the varsity...played in Bob Gibbons All-Star game in the summer of 2000...helped coach the East Chapel Hill High junior varsity team during his senior year when he was injured...averaged 20.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a junior in 1998-99...member of the 1998 USA Basketball Men’s Youth Development Festival South Team that won bronze medal…had best game of 11 points and six rebounds versus North in bronze medal game…averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in five games during the tournament…only Clemson men’s basketball player to play in that event as a high school student…had a high game of 38 points and 18 rebounds during a regular season tournament contest...ranked as 42nd best player in the nation by Prep Stars entering his senior season...also a top 100 player by Recruiters Handbook and Hoop Scoop...was ranked as the number-eight junior in the country by Bob Gibbons All-Star Publication...ranked among the top 30 players in the nation prior to the injury...team advanced to state tournament and had an 18-8 record...Triad 3A Conference Player-of-the-Year...Hobbs was first-team all-state selection as a junior...sophomore year the team was 25-4 and lost in the East Regional Championship...all-conference selection as a sophomore and the Triad 3A Conference Tournament MVP...as a freshman, started all 29 games at center and helped team to the state championship and a 24-5 record...Division 3A Crescent Athletic All-Conference selection as a freshman...also chosen to two all-tournament teams that year...played his high school basketball for Ray Hartsfield...
