Horace Grant played basketball at Clemson from 1983-87. As a junior, he averaged 16.4 points per game and 10.5 rebounds. His senior year was his best, however, as he won the ACC "Triple Crown," leading the conference in points, field goal percentage, and rebounding. This won him the ACC Player-of-the-Year Award, the first Clemson basketball player to do so. He led Clemson to its finest season yet, finishing with a 25-6 record. His play earned him the Frank Howard Award and the IPTAY Athlete-of-the-Year Award.

Grant was the 10th overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft to the Chicago Bulls. He helped the Bulls franchise to three NBA titles in a row and became the first Clemson player to win an NBA Championship. Grant now has a total of four rings, the most of any former Clemson player. He was an NBA All-Defensive team selection four years and also an NBA All-Star in 1993. He was inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame in 1999 and named to the ACC 50-Year Anniversary team in 2003.
