Clemson, SC - Clemson's 12-player baseball recruiting class was ranked #9 in the nation by Collegiate Baseball on Tuesday. Arizona State was ranked #1, while Oregon, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Georgia rounded out the top five. All 12 Tigers are already on campus and have been going through fall workouts in preparation for the 2009 season-opener against Charlotte on February 20.

Head Coach Jack Leggett and Recruiting Coordinator Tom Riginos brought in 12 players, including 10 high school players and two junior-college transfers. Six of the signees were selected in the 2008 Major League draft, including righthander Scott Weismann (18th round, Tigers), infielder Jason Stolz (31st round, Braves), lefthander/outfielder Chris Dwyer (36th round, Yankees), Brad Miller (39th round, Rangers), catcher Phil Pohl (44th round, Rays), and righthander Kevin Brady (44th round, Orioles).
