Unlike football and basketball, the sport of baseball requires considerable development before a player is able to play in the big leagues. Each June, hundreds of high school baseball players face one of the toughest choices of their lives: sign with the pros and begin the development process in the low minor leagues, or head to college for academic and athletic education and re-enter the draft in three years?
Clemson's Daniel Moskos might be the poster child for developing in college.
In 2004, Moskos was a just another kid from California with a dream of playing in the majors. Though he was an accomplished high school pitcher, he wasn't someone who made the pro scouts drool.
