May 6, 2002

Clemson, SC --

Senior shortstop Khalil Greene (Key West, FL) was named ACC Co-Player-of-the-Week May 6. Greene was 7-for-8 (.875) with two homers, a double, seven RBIs, two walks, and a hit by pitch while not committing an error. He did so against #9 Georgia Tech in just two games from May 4-5, as he upped his season batting average to .478, tops in the ACC. He is the only player to garner ACC Player-of-the-Week honors three times. In fact, no other player has been lauded more than once in 2002. Greene shared honors with Maryland pitcher Sean Kane. Greene was awarded conference honors the previous week after batting 10-for-16 in five games.
