Clemson Post Game Quotes
Head Coach Jack Leggett
"We got a great game out of Robert, just like we did in the ACC
tournament, and I think he really stepped it up. He's in a great rhythm
now and he is throwing the ball really well. He battled out of a couple
situations that he got himself into and then he would give us a quick next
inning and that really helped us. Harvey and D'Alessio stepped it up for
us and played really good baseball tonight. D'Alessio is playing a lot
better baseball and is a lot more focused now. I have a lot more
confidence in him and that's why he got the green light on the 3-0 pitch
and he took care of business. We got some timely hits and we stayed
focused all week long on what we had to do and we just stepped int here
and did it."
"We came a long way from the 28th game and every time we jumped on them and challenged them they responded by playing better and tougher and more aggressively. To me that is of their hunger to be coached and their hunger to go to Omaha. We have been playing as good of baseball as just about anybody in the country the last half of the season. Two years doesn't seem like that long to some people but it has seemed like a long time to me and I really proud of the boys how they have reacted to the tough schedule early on and how they have really improved the last half of the season."
Designated Hitter Kris Harvey
"The first homerun I was going to take a pitch, and then on the third
pitch he hung a slider and I just took advantage of it. Then the next time
it was fast ball up and over the plate and I just had to do what I had to
do with that and put the bat on it."
Pitcher Robert Rohrbaugh
"Anytime a pitcher goes out there Friday night and does what Faris did you
kind of feed of that. Plus, you cannot top Cribb's performance last night
with the way he pitched. I just fed off what they did the past couple of
nights and got to where I was throwing the ball well. I'm back to where I
need to be with having no walks all night. I had some problems but I just
buckled down and just let the defense work behind me. My confidence is
gaining each outing."

Head Coach Rob Walton
Obviously, we'd like to still be playing. Good-byes are tough. Michael
(Hollimon) transferring here for a year sparked this ball club
tremendously. He was outstanding. Dennis (Bigley) and Rene (Recio) have
been OR baseball. They're hall of famers in our program and they're
seniors. They're just tremendous people and tremendous players. We've been
fortunate to have them. It's a tough way to go out. I wish we could have
sent them out a little bit differently. Clemson's a really good team, a
solid team. We made some mistakes that they capitalized on, so give them
the credit.
If we had our "A" game, I'd like our chances. It was going to come down to our bullpen. If we could have just stepped up a little bit out of the pen. Most people don't know that Rene has battled some physical injuries all year. What he did for us this year is just absolutely unbelievable. He is a warrior-type. He doesn't complain about it. Through his physical issues and the problems he's had, he's really had an amazing year.
#14 Michael Hollimon
On the pitching of Robert Rohrbaugh
He established his fastball and spotted up well. He was getting ahead of
hitters. As a pitcher, if you can get ahead of hitters, you chances of
getting outs go up that much more. He did a great job of hitting the
spots. He was going right at us. You have to give him credit. He did what
he wanted to do and that put us in a tough position
#25 Dennis Bigley
We played a great game in the first game today and we just wanted to carry
that momentum into the next couple games. We all had the mind set that we
could do it. We played a good game and played as hard as we could. You
just have to give credit to Clemson. They had a good game tonight.
#32 Rene Recio
A team like this, it's always going to be tough to win two games. It's
doable, but the odds against us aren't very good. To beat this team two
games, back-to-back, is pretty hard to do.
