Box Score

Charleston, SC -

Clemson upped its win streak to nine games Tuesday with an 8-0 win over Georgia Southern (14-6) at Riley Park in Charleston, SC. The game was started on Monday, however the game was halted due to inclement weather after just a half inning with Clemson leading 2-0.

Freshman righthander Jason Berken (2-0) earned the win by pitching 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. Dennis Dove (3-1) allowed the two runs in the first inning (the only inning he pitched) and suffered the loss.

Clemson (12-3), ranked as high as #14, got on the board in the first inning thanks in part ot three walks by starter Dennis Dove. Brad McCann blooped a single to score the first run, then Kris Harvey's slow grounder to the pitcher plated the second run.

The Tigers upped their lead to 4-0 on McCann's double down the right-field line after Ryan Hub lined a two-out double down the left-field line and Michael Johnson walked for the second time in the game.

Ryan Hub gave the Tigers a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning when he lined a sacrifice fly to left field, plating David Slevin.

In the seventh inning, Zane Green led off with a single to left, advanced to second on a failed pickoff attempt and error by the pitcher. He then stole third and scored on A.J. Zickgraf's errant throw to third. Hub followed with a homer to center and McCann hit a towering homer to left two batters later to up the Tiger lead to 8-0. It was the second homer of the season for both Hub and McCann. McCann was 3-for-4 with a homer, double, and four RBIs, while Hub was 2-for-2 with a homer, double, three runs scored,
