Stepped in to be the everyday starter at shortstop in both of his first two seasons at Clemson, but he suffered a serious season-ending neck injury after playing in the first six games of 2007; he returned at full strength in 2008 despite some nagging injuries that forced him to miss seven starts in 2008...has a strong arm...works extremely hard on the field and in the weightroom...a career .284 hitter in 193 games (191 starts)...has 199 hits, 30 doubles, five triples, eight homers, 90 RBIs, 12 sacrifice flies, and 11 sacrifice bunts along with 39 stolen bases in 42 attempts, as he is one of the best basestealers in school history...has 292 putouts and 552 assists in his career...is a perfect 17-17 on stolen bases in ACC regular-season games in his career...has earned four letters in his career and can become the first Tiger baseball player in history to earn five letters...joins Adam Ward as the only graduate students on the team.

2008: Team co-captain...hit .238 with 30 runs, 10 doubles, one triple, two homers, 29 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases in 16 attempts in 54 games (52 starts, all at shortstop)...led the team in steals and sacrifice flies (6)...was caught stealing in his first two stolen-base attempts, but stole 14 bases in his last 14 attempts...was a perfect 4-for-4 on bunts and led the team in bunt singles...started at the leadoff spot 23 times...hit .301 in non-ACC regular-season games...hit .321 in the first two innings...had 11 RBIs in the last eight games...in the last 15 games, he committed only one error (.987 fielding percentage)...made his inspirational return a successful one in the first game of a doubleheader against Mercer on Feb. 23; he singled and doubled in his first two plate appearances and scored a run after both hits...saw his streak of 25 stolen bases in a row end when he was caught stealing in the second game of a doubleheader against Mercer on Feb. 23...went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs against High Point on Feb. 27...went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a stolen base against Wofford on Mar. 5...went 2-for-5 with the game-winning, run-scoring single with two outs in the ninth inning in the second game of a doubleheader at Wake Forest on Mar. 9...hit a two-out, two-run single with two outs in the ninth inning to tie the score against North Carolina-Greensboro on Mar. 12; Alex Lee scored the winning run on an error on the play to give Clemson a 6-5 win...went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs, and two stolen bases against #21 Coastal Carolina on Mar. 18...went 3-for-4 with a double and two stolen bases against N.C. 2007: Drafted in the 39th round (#1187 overall pick) by the Oakland Athletics...hit .409 with five runs, a double, triple, homer, six RBIs, a .458 on-base percentage, and three steals in six games (all starts at shortstop); Clemson was 5-1 in those six starts...walked twice and struck out just once...suffered a season-ending neck injury in late February and had surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota on March 27...totaled at least two hits in four of the six games...was 3-for-6 (.500) with runners in scoring postion...did not commit an error in 25 chances in the field, including six putouts and 19 assists...went 2-for-4 with a solo homer against Pacific on Feb. 23...went 2-for-4 with three RBIs batting at the leadoff spot in the first game of a doubleheader against Pacific on Feb. 24.
