BEFORE CLEMSON: Lettered five times in baseball at Travelers Rest High School, where he was coached by Brian McKitrick...set the state record for career home runs (52); actually broke the old record of 34 during his junior season..."Mr. Baseball" in South Carolina as a senior...all-state selection as a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior.
