2008: Had a 2-1 record and 4.01 ERA in 14 appearances (five starts)...in 42.2 innings pitched, he allowed 46 hits (.271 opponents' batting average) and 15 walks with 34 strikeouts...in 33.2 innings pitched during his last seven outings, including five starts, he had a 2.94 ERA and 24 strikeouts against only six walks...made a start during each of the last four weekends after his dominating performance in his first career start at Western Carolina in April...held opponents to a .176 batting average with runners in scoring position and .221 batting average with runners on base...had a 2.66 ERA and .226 opponents' batting average, both team-bests, in non-ACC regular-season games...in his five starts, he had a 2-1 record, 3.51 ERA, and 18 strikeouts against five walks in 25.2 innings pitched...had a 2-0 record, 3.13 ERA, and team-best .193 opponents' batting average in seven appearances (three starts) in games on opponents' home fields...had a 2.93 ERA in the first five innings...did not allow more than three earned runs in any of his 14 appearances...Clemson had a 4-1 record in the five games that he started...pitched a hitless and scoreless inning in relief at Wake Forest on Mar. 8...struck out two without allowing a walk in 1.1 innings pitched in relief at Georgia on Apr. 1...pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing no hits, no runs, and one walk with two strikeouts at #14 South Carolina on Apr. 9...pitched 5.2 innings in relief, allowing four hits, no earned runs, and one walk with three strikeouts against #10 South Carolina on Apr. 16; in his two appearances against his former team, he allowed only four hits, no earned runs, and two walks with five strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched...pitched 7.0 innings in his first career start, allowing two hits, no runs, and two walks with seven strikeouts to earn his first career win at Western Carolina on Apr. 22...pitched 5.2 innings in a starting role, allowing three hits, two runs, and one walk with four strikeouts to earn the win at #25 Georgia Tech on May 11.
BEFORE CLEMSON: Spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons at Spartanburg Methodist College, where he was coached by Tim Wallace...#3 junior college prospect in South Carolina by Perfect Game...first-team all-region selection in 2007...member of the region champions in 2006 and 2007, and member of the district champions in 2007...spent the 2005 season at South Carolina, but he did not appear in a game...region player-of-the-year as a junior and senior at Lugoff-Elgin High School, where he was coached by Randy Stokes...South Carolina Select team member as a senior.
