Began his freshman season in 2006 solely as a catcher, but saw time at first base and in the outfield in late innings of games...will compete for the starting catcher position in 2007, but has the versatility to play in the outfield and infield...has good power and is agile behind the plate...saw limited action in the fall due to a leg injury...one of two Tigers from the West Coast on the 2007 team, joining Daniel Moskos of Alta Loma, CA.

He has an opportunity this spring to help this team win with his bat. He's a clutch hitter and has a lot of confidence when he walks up to the plate. We see him as a player who will be in the middle part of the order if he remains consistent."

2006: Hit .219 (7-for-32) with three doubles, a homer, and eight RBIs in 25 games (two starts, both as DH); Clemson won both games that he started...hit .333 with runners in scoring position and .294 with runners on base...had 11 putouts, including seven at catcher, two at first base, and two in the outfield, without an error...had his first career hit that scored a run and added an RBI double in the second game of a doubleheader against Mercer on Feb. 26; it was is first career start...hit a pinch-hit, two-run double against Maryland on Apr. 9...hit a pinch-hit double against Wofford on Apr. 26...hit a pinch-hit single against Virginia Tech on Apr. 29...came off the bench and had a single and an RBI in the second game of a doubleheader at Duke on May 8...came off the bench and went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and his first career homer, a three-run shot, against #22 Wake Forest on May 18...played for Keene in the NECBL in the summer, where he hit .203 with four homers and 10 RBIs in 23 games (22 starts).

BEFORE CLEMSON: State player-of-the-year and league MVP as a senior at Mount Rainier High School...first-team all-state as a senior...first-team all-league catcher and pitcher as a junior and senior...his team made the state playoffs four times...lettered three times in baseball at Mount Rainier High, where he was coached by Darren Rawie.
