Mottl, Boyd Invited to USA Baseball National Trials

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Sophomore right-handed pitcher Ryan Mottl (Florissant, MO) and freshman outfielder Patrick Boyd (Palm Harbor, FL) have been invited to participate in the 1998 USA Baseball National Team Trials to be held in Tucson, AZ, from November 5-9. Mottl and Boyd were two of 66 players selected by USA Baseball.

Mottl is coming off an All-ACC season a year ago that saw him win 10 games, a first by a Clemson freshman. Boyd was a second-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in this summer's Major League draft. The pair will travel to Tucson and play four games on November 7-9.
