The Clemson men's and women's swimming and diving team will travel to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in a conference dual meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Clemson women are 2-2 (1-1 ACC), while the men sit at 1-3 (0-2 ACC). The Hokies are each 2-1, 1-1 in league meets, having defeated West Virginia and NC State, but falling to Virginia.

The Tigers hold a 14-1 all-time series mark on the men's side, while the women are 11-3 all-time. The Clemson men defeated the Hokies last season in a season-opening meet, while the Virginia Tech women took out the Tigers to start the year.

The teams come into the 2008 showdown comparably. The meet will feature several hotly contested races, and will feature some strong diving. Clemson's David Giambra is coming off of a strong meet at South Carolina, where he defeated the defending SEC Diver of the Week in both events. He will show down with Mikey McDonald, an All-ACC selection a season ago.

The meet will also feature two of the ACC's premier sprinters in Clemson's Rachel Regone and Virginia Tech's Sara Smith. Smith is the ACC record-holder in the 50 free, which she set at the NCAA Championships last season. She also edged Regone by 0.02 seconds in the ACC Championships to take the conference gold. This season, Regone leads the conference with a 23.10 50 free, while Smith and Regone each have time in the top-four in the 100 free this season.

This will be the Tigers final tune-up before traveling to Athens, GA for the prestigious Georgia Invite, held from Dec. 3-5.
