March 21, 1998

MINNEAPOLIS - Making her second trip to the NCAA, Erin Schatz posted a 4:49.93 in the 500 freestyle, finishing 23rd overall. Schatz competes tomorrow in the 200 freestyle and 1650 freestyle. She enters the 1650 freestyle competition ranked 24th by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's College Quick 25 with a time of 16:37.75.

ACC 200 backstroke champion, Jennifer Mihalik, competes Saturday morning with a seeding time of 1:58.77. Today Mihalik finished in the 50 freestyle with a personal best time of 23.32, landing her 36th in the preliminaries. She also swam the 100 backstroke (56.30) placing 29th in the preliminaries.

The Women's NCAA Championship will conclude tomorrow.
