CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson's Cydonie Mothersill has been honored as the 2001 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Performer of the Year after she helped lead the Clemson Women's Indoor Track and Field team to a second place finish with 167 points at the 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Orlando, Fla.

The University of North Carolina Tar Heels claimed the ACC Outdoor title as they won the championship with 182 points. Tar Heel head coach Dennis Craddock was named ACC Coach of the Year, Mothersill earned Most Valuable Performer and UNC's Shalane Flanagan garnered Rookie of the Year honors. The above awards are voted on by the league's nine head coaches.

The Lady Tigers' Mothersill, a senior from the Cayman Islands, was the ACC Champion in 100m and 200m dashes, and ran on the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams that also won their events. She recorded a provisional qualifying time of 11.34 in the 100m dash and posted an automatic qualifying mark of 22.57 in the 200m dash. She was a member of Clemson's 4x100m relay team that automatically qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 44.19 as well as the 4x400m relay team that provisionally qualified with a time of 3:33.57.
