Clemson Track and Field Teams To Open Outdoor Season This Weekend

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson men's and women's track and field teams will open their outdoor seasons this weekend. The men's team will compete at the Charlotte and Georgia Relays while the women's team will compete at the Georgia Relays.

The Clemson men's track and field team won the ACC Outdoor Championships in 2000 and finished 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Clemson women finished seventh at the ACC Championships last year.

The Tigers and Lady Tigers wrapped up their indoor season last weekend at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, AR. The Tigers finished tied for 20th with two All-Americans in Sultan Tucker and Todd Matthews, who finished third and fifth in the 60m hurdles, respectively. The Lady Tigers were third in the country as Cydonie Mothersill won the NCAA Championship in the 200m dash. Jamine Moton placed second and third in the shot put and weight throw, respectively, while the 4x400m relay team of Michelle Burgher, Mothersill, Marcia Smith and Shekera Weston finished third.
