1999-2000:
Led the Tigers in the 400m and 500m indoors...recorded an
automatic qualifying time of 46.31 at the Virginia Tech
Invitational...finished 15th at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a
time of 47.33...finished ninth at the Georgia Tech Invitational in an
outdoor provisional qualifying time of 45.90... earned All-ACC honors
with a third place finish (47.03) at the ACC Outdoor
Championships...recorded best 400m outdoor time of 46.42 at the Orange
and Purple Meet...member of the 4x200m relay team that finished second
at the Penn Relays in 1:22.52...2000 Olympian from Trinidad who
competed in the 400m dash and was a member of the 4x400m relay team.
1998-99:
Won the indoor national championship in the 400m with a
time of 46.11, becoming the Tigers' youngest national champion...also
a member of Clemson's 4x400m relay team that won the indoor national
championship with a time of 3:07.80...won the ACC Championship in the
400m indoors (46.00) and placed third in the 200m (21.25)... also a
member of the 4x400m relay team that won the conference championship
indoors ...set the school record in the 300m (33.42) and 500m
(1:01.80) indoors ...named Freshman of the Year for the ACC Indoors
and Outdoors ...earned All-America honors outdoors after placing
fifth in the 400m with a time of 45.37...also ran on the 4x400m relay
team that placed eighth nationally ...won the ACC Championship in the
400m (45.51) outdoors and placed fourth in the 200m (20.79)...a
member of the 4x200m relay team (1:21.96) and 4x400m relay team
(3:03.67) that set the Tiger record.
High Point High School
Coached by Scott Smith...was the 1997 Indoor National Scholastic
champion in the 400m with a time of 48.09 and the 1998 champion with
a time of 47.80.....holds the Maryland state record in the 400m
(45.86)...was undefeated in the 200m and 400m his senior
year...ranked first nationally in the 400m as a prep...won the 1998
Outdoor National Scholastic championship in the 200m (21.22) and 400m
(45.86).
