Red-shirted indoor season due to injury...began showing progress during the outdoor season as he recovered from ailment...ran his best outdoor time of the season (1:55.30) in the 800m at the Duke Invitational... recorded a time of 1:55.36 in the preliminaries at the ACC Outdoor Championships...finished seventh at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 1:57.30.

Spartanburg High School:
Coached by Glover Smiley and Rob Wilder...won the 800m championship with a time of 1:52.74 at the USATAF Junior Olympics in Omaha...the state runner-up in the 800m...a member of the 4x800m relay team that won the state championship... earned all-state honors for cross country and track...helped team to a second-place finish at the 1998 state cross country meet.
