BRISBANE, Australia - Former Clemson men's track and field standout Shawn Crawford won his second major international title of the year Thursday night. Crawford, the indoor world champion in the 200m, claimed the gold medal in the 200m at the Goodwill Games.

Crawford recorded a time of 20.17 in the finals, easily outdistancing the rest of the field, and finishing .21 seconds ahead of the silver medallist, Christopher Williams. The Goodwill Games record in the 200m is 20.10 set by Michael Johnson in 1994.

As a Tiger, Crawford was the most decorated men's track and field athlete in Clemson history. He was an 11-time All-American, a three time National Champion in the 200m dash and is the American indoor record holder in the 200m dash with a time of 20.26.

"We are very proud of Shawn's accomplishments, and glad to see him utilizing his talent," said head coach Bob Pollock. "He is very capable of being one of the top sprinters in the world."
