Assistant Athletic Trainer

Michelle Bensman is in her second year as an Athletic Trainer for Clemson, and her first season working with women's soccer. In 2007-08, Bensman worked primarily with the men's and women's swimming and diving and rowing teams.

Prior to coming to Clemson, Bensman earned her Master's Degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina. While at Chapel Hill, Bensman served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, covering the women's soccer and softball teams, youth camps, and intramural sporting events. She also supervised a clinical rotation of undergraduate students in the athletic training program and served as a teaching assistant in the undergraduate educational program.

Bensman attended college at Ohio University in Athens, OH, where she double-majored in Athletic Training and Exercise Physiology. She worked as a student athletic trainer from 2001 to 2005, covering intercollegiate and club athletics by assisting the staff athletic trainer with treatment, rehabilitation, practice and game coverage.

Bensman's current certifications include Certified Athletic Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Approved Clinical Instructor for Athletic Training, and American Red Cross Certified: Professional Rescuer, First Aid, CPR, and AED. She is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association, North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association, the South Carolina Athletic Training Association, and the National Athletic Trainers Association.
